Grays Recycling Helps Deliver Christmas to Elgin!

A yearly tradition for Geordie our Hiab driver is to help deliver the over 20ft Christmas Tree to Elgin Town Centre.

Geordie has been collecting and delivering the tree from his Palmaris days and Grays Recycling Services were only more than happy to carry on with that tradition to help bring the Christmas magic.

The tree is freshly cut down on the morning of the collection from Rothes Estates and carefully loaded on to the back of the Hiab- being careful to minimise branch snapping so the tree arrives in all its glory.  

Then it is transported to Elgin Town Centre and lifted with the Hiab crane into place- it is very delicate work getting it into place considering the great height of the tree and it is truly a marvel to watch Geordie work his magic- being a seasoned pro, Geordie makes it look so seamless and easy!

Once in place, the Hiab crane holds the tree in while the Moray Council Lands & Parks team put blocks of wood around the base of the tree to secure it for the festive period.

The Christmas Tree will be lit up at the Elgin Christmas Light Switch On which takes place on Saturday 23rd November from 10am-5pm with the big moment for the tree taking place at 4.30pm.
